3 Elements To Focus On To Help You Save Time.
Ok, so you’re a solopreneur with a full-time job.
You have goals and ambitions, but the fact that your job hinders you to really focus on your business venture doesn’t help you at all.
You don’t have a lot of time which means you only want to know what you really need to focus on in order to get a good jump start on your business.
So you do research.
And more research.
And more wasted time researching, and to no avail you can’t find any strategy that will work with your schedule, and you’re getting irritated and fed up.
But one great thing about you is that you only want the basic, fundamental elements that’s going to help you build a strong foundation to work from.
And that my friends is going to help push you forward despite your busy schedule.
A lot of people tend to skip these 3 elements and wind up going in circles with their business. If you don’t have these 3 elements, chances are you won’t get too far whether you have a busy schedule or have more than enough time than Tim Ferriss’ The 4-Hour WorkWeek.
If luck is on your side, you can build a business overnight.
But, for the majority of solopreneurs/entrepreneurs it doesn’t work out like that.
So the antidote to this dilemma is to make sure that you incorporate the 3 elements I’m about to talk about into your marketing and business.
In this post, I will talk from my own experience. I narrowed down what all solopreneurs/entrepreneurs need at the very least in order to produce the very results they want.
You really want to be successful, but you believe that you need a lot of time to get to that point. And what’s holding you back is your time-consuming job.
To mentally get away from your busy tasks at your job, you start daydreaming about how successful you will become with all of your business ventures and other investments.
This is self motivation in itself.
So what do you do.
You start making plans about getting back on a routine, and you’re going to start this routine when you get home.

But what happens?
You get home, eat dinner, check your email, get on social media, check on your kid’s homework and as a result you become drowsy.
In the back of your mind, you’re thinking “I need to start this routine”, but you decide to take a nap.
Next thing you know, it’s time for you to get ready for work again.
But eventually you find some time on the weekends and a couple of days within the week to work on your business.
Although you’re putting in the time, you feel that it’s not enough.
You think if only you knew what basic steps to focus on to build your business then you’ll be good to go.
The problem is, you’ve done a lot of research, and to no avail, you didn’t find the right answers that will work with your schedule and train of thought.
Not that you didn’t find any helpful information, but your find requires a lot more time than you’re willing to put in at the moment.
But from my experience when it comes to building your business, your marketing has to stem from three elements which are Networking, Branding, and Promotion
These 3 elements is based from YusuffBusayo guest post Commit, Connect, Convert where Networking, Branding, and Promotion would be subtopics under Connecting with others within your target audience.
So lets get into the 3 elements that you’ll need to really get going!
Networking
When I was in Network Marketing, I was taught to use the 3 foot rule.
That is, network with people that are 3 feet away from you.
And being an introvert like myself it was the most energy draining experience I’ve ever had, but I push myself to do it.
I do have to admit that it was a great way to come out of my shell.
But there are many people who are like this.
For extroverts it’s comes very natural and it’s a fun way to meet new people.
But for introverts, you put yourself in that awkward moment trying to come up with something productive to say.
When it comes to growing a business, networking is a vital piece of the puzzle.
Yes, I know, if you’re an introvert you probably just said “Dam!!!” to yourself, but for extroverts it would be like going to an amusement park.
But networking with others doesn’t have to be as strenuous as us introverts may think. There are certain tasks we can do that works best for us.
Now what are the best ways to network with other’s online?
Well here are 5 tasks I’ve been doing for the past couple of years that have helped to build my reputation with others.
- Leave Blogging Comments
- Comment on Social Media
- Leave Comments in Blogging Communities
- Make twitter your best friend to communicate with other bloggers
- Mention people on social media whenever you share their content
- When it comes to networking, you don’t have to push the pedal to the medal and have long conversations with those within your niche. (A big relief for introverts)
- That’s what blogs are for 😉
- The best thing you can do is to come as yourself and you will eventually attract the right people to you.
- It will almost be like magic when this happens to you!
- But eventually, your goal is to build a web of interconnected relationships that’s going to help you along your journey.
Branding
A great question to ask yourself is what do you want your audience to expect whenever they come to your blog?
You’ve probably been to quite a few blogs and you noticed that there’s this recurring tone/theme that some blogs imprint in your mind.
When you go to Neil Patel’s blog, you expect him to talk about driving traffic to a blog.
When you go to Don Purdum’s blog you expect him to talk about “What business are you really in”.
And if you go to Andrea Beltrami’s blog, you expect her to talk about Branding.
Being able to leave an imprint that your audience knows you by is a big plus!
Why?
Because they know who exactly will help them solve their specific problems.
If you want to generate great results to your blog, then you want to brand yourself online like the 3 bloggers I mentioned.
To brand yourself for success, you want to develop a recurring theme that you can work from that’s going to branch out into other marketing activities that you do.
Marketing and branding yourself goes hand in hand because you’re showing your target audience your competency and getting them to trust you.
If you want to draw a lot of traffic to your blog, you want to gain the attention of one person with one specific problem
By doing this you create a snowball effect
If your specialty is list building via blogging part-time, geared towards those who still have full-time jobs, this will catch the attention of those who fall in this category.
Branding Yourself Without A Blog
Having a personal brand that catches the interest of your target market eventually will build a great reputation for you.
And when it comes to doing both online and offline marketing, reputation is the silver bullet that fuels the networking and promotion portion of your marketing.
Promotion
Now you want to get the word out, not only among the people that you networked with, but also the ones they’ve connected with.
For example, if someone sends me a friend request on Facebook, I see who they’re connected with before I make my decision to add them. I admit.
With this mentality, this is how you get the best out of your promotions.
Why?
For me this is a great indicator that they’re in similar niches and they’re more than likely finding my content interesting and relative.
This helps to build a bigger support team of bloggers that comment and share your posts.
It also makes automated tools very useful when you’re making connections in this fashion.
There’s many bloggers who don’t use automated tools and are having a lot of success by only making manual connections and keeping a presence on social media.
But as far as getting yourself out there, branding yourself, and networking, automated tools have worked quite well for me.
When it comes to promoting, you want to consistently keep promoting yourself whether you’re using automated tools or not.
Branding Yourself Without A Blog
It’s best practice to do it in moderation, and not flood the internet with only your content because it makes you look desperate and unconcern about resolving the issues of your target audience.
Your goal is to brand yourself as a leader whether it be online or offline, and you do this by being of value to others.
When you’re networking and branding yourself, you want to consistently ask yourself how can you help those you’re connecting with, or what is it about you that they may see of value.
And when you practicing this as you’re promoting yourself, you will start to attract a lot of great opportunities and see yourself being mentioned on popular blogs when you least expect it.
Conclusion
When you combined the valuable efforts of Networking, Branding, and Promotion you find how powerful marketing is within your niche.
Showing your target audience how competent and relative you are to them is a powerful way to grow a positive reputation and you’ll attract unexpected opportunities to you.
One task that I highly suggest is to connect with one blogger within your niche per day, 5 days a week for a year.
Connect with them through reading one blog a day 5 days a week and make sure you subscribe to their blogs so you can be updated with an email whenever they publish new posts.
Start off with the 5 suggestions I’ve used to connect with other bloggers.
This all takes time, but if you’re consistent you will see how rapidly your reputation will grow and how much stronger your marketing will be.
This will take 30 minutes at the most each day and taking these baby steps will definitely add up!
