Social media and networking concept: group of color signs with social media services isolated on white background

“Does your content lead your readers on a journey, or does it merely stuff them as leads into a pipeline?” ~ Ann Handley

Don’t you hate it when you don’t get what you expected from an idea that you thought would be the “savior” of your pending problems?

The one thing that many online marketers like to promote is being “lazy” while “working smart”.

This may sound like an oxymoron, but these two concepts compliment each other well.

It’s saying what’s the point of working hard and not getting no where when you don’t have to work as hard and leverage tools and strategies to keep you progressing.

Many of you say that if you have more hours in a day then you’ll get much more accomplished, right?

But is this really the case?

Yes, you may accomplish publishing a blog post every single week or even everyday, but the question is how are you using your time?

So you discover social media automated tools that promote your newest and older blog posts!

You think great, you’ll let these tools take care of the promoting while you focus on other tasks.

You think everything is fine until you build up the courage to look at your stats.

And you see that your stats doesn’t speak volumes at all!

In fact, it’s kind of embarrassing to look at.

You see that you’re not getting comments, likes, clicks or re-shares!

Then you start to question your writing ability but yet you still get comments and shares on your blog. It may not be a lot, but at least a few people notice your knowledge and skill set.

So what can you do to improve?

If you see all of your blogging peers getting shares left and right, but yet you’re not, then there must be something missing in your routine.

You don’t want to feel like you’re wasting your time with using social media automated tools, don’t you? Let’s see how we can get the best out of them and get you noticed more by your visitors to comment and share your content even more so.

Find Your Target Audience To Expose Your Content

What would be the point of using social media automated tools if the very people who would be most interested in your content aren’t seeing it?

That would defeat the purpose wouldn’t it?

Yes, using these tools is a great time saver, but it can also be a waste in its use as well. This is why you want to be strategic when you use these types of time-saving tools.

The best, simplest strategic to do this is connecting with those who are within your niche or are in a similar ones as you.

This is why it’s so important to come up with one profile of your ideal person who’d be interested in the topics you write. I base the profile on who I am and the topics that I like to write about.

From there I connect with those who comment on my blog who are within my niche as well as those who share my posts within my niche.

There are tools that will automatically find people you want to add to your social media circle, but I haven’t had any great luck with them. I’ve been manually adding people to my circle which have been working great although it takes a while.

Hone Your Headline Copywriting Skills When it Comes To Your Target Audience

The first thing you’re audience is going to see are your headlines.

Obviously you want to gear your headlines towards the interest of your target audience.

But how can you make them stick out?

Well one way that’s going to get your content overlooked is writing generic headlines. You know the type. Headlines like:

How To Increase Blog Traffic

How To Make Money With Your Blog

How To Generate Leads

Don’t get me wrong, this will draw newbie type of crowds that have never blogged or started a home business in their life time. I sure was attracted to these titles when I first started.

But there comes a time when your ideas are like “When you see one, you seen them all” to your audience who have more experience.

From my own experience there’s 3 specific elements that’s going to conjure curiosity when it comes to your audience clicking on your blog posts

  1. Specificity
  2. Emotions
  3. Assurance

When it comes to my headlines, I either use one of these elements, a mixture of two out of the three elements, or i’ll use all three elements.

Let’s go over the 3 elements here:

If you want specificity, you want to give answers to their particular problem. You can show them options they’re already using or have never thought of using. You can also come up with a list of answers that will give them more options.

Let’s change the generic headlines I mentioned above to be more specific.

Using Social Media Automated Tools To Get Attention Of Your Target Audience

Now that you defined who your target audience is and you’re improving your blog headlines, there’s one more thing you want to do.

You want to keep engaging your target audience!

It’s not enough to just consistently put your blog posts in front of them. They want to know that you’re human!

They want to see that you’ll actually give them a genuine reaction when they make an effort to interact with you. This will draw them closer to you, and what’s great is that not only will they see the post your automated tools put out, but also they will re-share your posts which looks great to search engines.

Consistently being in front of them and engaging will mean a lot down the blogging road.

What do I mean by engaging?

Well if you’re thinking that you have to carry long conversations with your audience, then no, I’m not talking about this.

I’m merely saying network by responding to your audience by commenting, sharing, liking, Google+’s, mentioning and if you want, you can carry longer conversations with those you resonate well with.

Here’s some simple avenues you can leverage to carry this out.

Engage On Social Media – I use to go out my way to try to start a conversation on social media, but it didn’t work well. Most of the time I post something, I wouldn’t get the responses I wanted.

Does this happen to you?

So what did I do about this?

I started commenting on other people’s post on social media, and this work quite well. This is one way to become more popular among your audience and peers.

Once genuine people are familiar with you, you can be sure that some of them will do their due diligence of engaging with you commenting, mentioning and re-share the post you put out or the ones the social media automated tools you use post.

Use A Q&A Site To Draw Attention – After reading This Article I got the idea that not only I can brand myself on social media, but also I can do so on Question and Answer sites like Quora.

You can find your target market on these type of sites, and brand yourself well enough to be considered an authority or influencer within your niche.

Just to let you know, I just answered a question on Quora a couple of days before publishing this post, and i got 243 views so far which is pretty good. But I highly recommend that you check out This Article and join Quora after you read it.

Leverage Blogging Communities – Blogging communities is a great way to get your name and your blog out there.

I do have to admit, at first I didn’t have the best of luck with blogging communities. But you know what, luck really didn’t have anything to do with it. You have to make sure you do a few things

  1. Make sure you read blog posts within your niche there
  2. Make sure you comment and share these blog posts
  3. Make sure you’re doing #1 and #2 consistently

If you follow these 3 points here, then you’ll definitely get the best out of blogging communities.

With that said, once the audience starts to continuously see you at work, then this is when the social automated tools will come in handy for you to get even more shares and likes from each of your posts.

Add Members From Your Email Lists As Connections On Social Media – The smartest thing you could probably do is to add your subscribers and leads to your social media circle.

For each email, I have a picture of me and a link to add them to my social media profiles. Particularly my Twitter account and my Facebook Page.

So not only I can engage a big portion of my audience via Email, but also I can do so on Social Media if they choose to be a part of my social media circle.

With this type of branding, you’ll also increase the chances of getting your shares from your automated tools re-shared, liked, and even get comments.

Conclusion

The goal of using Social Media Automated Tools is to increase traffic back to your content. If you’re not see these results, then you’re missing something within the marketing puzzle.

The 3 basic elements you need is a target audience, copywriting skills, and interaction with your target audience.

Yes, it’s true that there are other elements when it comes to generating traffic with these automated tools, but these 3 elements lays out the foundation of a continual process of your content getting interaction and shares.

When push comes to shove using these tools can be a great time-saver. Especially for all of you who don’t have a lot of time to focus on your blog and home businesses.

But when it comes to these tools, or any type of tool, you definitely want to be strategic about their use, keep improving your skill level, and make sure that your target audience is getting something valuable foremost.
